There’s so much of us that we keep covered out of fear of being misunderstood or judged. What happens when someone asks you the simple question, “Who are you?” How do you answer? Of course you’ll start by answering with the things that are attached to you like your job title, etc., but who are you beyond all of that. Take a minute to think about it. Who are you when you aren’t described by the titles you carry or the things you have? If none of that is used to describe you, who are you stripped down and vulnerable. Look at yourself and say, “My heart is filled by things that make me smile. These are my dreams, hopes, talents, gifts, and hobbies.” When we strip ourselves, it’s a humbling process as well as a learning experience. We are able to see the real us. The person we are hiding is what the world needs. God did not create us to wear a mask because of what we feel like the world will not accept. He created us in his divine design. So strip yourself of the unnecessary mask and layers, and be what God placed you here to be. Do it with pride with your head held high. #maskoff Love, Eboni P.
