What Does A Answered Prayer Look Like?

When praying to God, we are told to be specific in what we’re praying for. Wait, before I go any further, I don’t want to take for granted that everyone knows what prayer is. Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. The wonderful thing about praying is that what you share with God is between you and Him. After a conversation with Him, you will never be the same. Don’t just have a conversation with God when you want something or when things are going bad. Talk to Him just to say “thank you” or to see how his day is going. Now, back to the purpose of this blog. When we pray to God and he answers our prayers, what does that look like? Let’s take me for instance; I never ask God to heal me from cerebral palsy but I did ask him to allow me to walk. He did just what I asked- he allowed me to start walking with the assistance of a walker after having multiple surgeries. I did not say how I wanted to be able to walk and the surgery was part of my answered prayer of walking. As I got older, I wanted more independence with my walking. Now most of you are probably thinking, “Eboni, why didn’t you just ask God to let you walk without any assistance or better yet, to heal you?” Do you remember when I said to be specific in your prayers? Well I was. I just wanted to walk and I didn’t care how He did it. I just wanted Him to do it. We have to realize that just because the answer doesn’t look the way we thought it should, doesn’t mean the prayer hasn’t been answered. Answered prayers don’t have a certain look but God’s voice is certain. When you hear Him speaking, listen clearly. That is going to be the answer to your prayer, God’s assurance. So listen closely. Love, Eboni P.
