Do you remember when you first started doing puzzles as a kid? You had the puzzles with the outlined pieces and all you had to do was match the puzzle piece with the outline on the puzzle board. When it comes to this thing called faith, fitting the pieces into the outline is not going to be that easy or it wouldn’t be called faith. We want everything mapped out perfectly before we move, but faith doesn’t have the look of perfection, but determination. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God,” (Romans 10:17). Faith is like a jig saw puzzle. A piece may look like it fits into a certain place, but as you start putting the pieces together you realize it doesn’t fit. Do you quit doing the puzzle? No, you rearrange the pieces until it fits. You refocus and press past what you see and how you felt when you first started the puzzle. Faith is uncomfortable moments at times, walking alone, doing things that you don’t understand, but going with it in spite of it not making sense to you. That is what faith looks like.
