Dear Eboni

Eboni, When you first came into the world, I was unsure of how it was going to be for you. You were so small you could fit in the palm of someone’s hand- two pounds, two ounces to be exact. I was so scared. Then your eyes met mine and I thought, she is a fighter, a little fireball that is ready for whatever this thing called life is going to throw at her. As you got older and you started hearing the words “you’re different”, you couldn’t quite understand what that meant because no one treated you different so why were people saying you were different. You didn’t get it. You wondered if it was because you had a walker. All types of questions came to your mind then I finally explained to you that you had Cerebral Palsy. If I can say one thing to you I would say, the world will try to put limits on you but don’t let that cause you to doubt and compromise yourself. Stop drinking and sleeping around, it won’t take away your Cerebral Palsy or make people accept you. Just be you because you are you. Know that once you become comfortable in your own skin, you are going to be unstoppable. -Mama Today I am confident. I am bold. I am walking in what I should have been doing a long time ago. Now I use my past to motivate me, not hinder me. My Bishop says, “Speak it and believe it.” We have to be able to speak to our situations, both past and present. In order for us to heal and face things, we have to confront them, which means that we have to confront ourselves. I am not saying that I am exactly what God wants me to be, I have not yet reached the goal, but I continue trying to reach it and make it mine. That is what Christ Jesus wants me to do (Philippians 3:12 NIV). Love Eboni P.
